Basic Information

Nice to meet you!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

My name is Shuko, and I run this blog.

While working during the week, I take Aerophone lessons about three times a month on my days off.

I first encountered the Aerophone around June 2022.

During a time when I was spending a lot of time at home, I had already watched plenty of TV and played video games, but I was looking for something new to try.

I used to play the digital piano at home, but I wanted to explore other instruments. That’s when I discovered the Aerophone.

With only experience playing the recorder in elementary school, I started the Aerophone as a complete beginner in wind instruments.

Hobbies

Music & Instruments: Aerophone, Piano, Drums, Solfège

I’m still a beginner at all of them, but I enjoy playing music.

Currently struggling with the guitar…

Others: Baking bread, Golf

Purpose of This Blog

The Aerophone produces sound easily when you blow into it, but once you start practicing, you quickly encounter challenges—such as how to hold it and how to position your mouth (embouchure)—which can be difficult for beginners.

At first, I struggled with pain in my neck, shoulders, lips, and thumb, and there were times when I felt like giving up.

However, by attending lessons and solving these issues little by little, I gradually improved. Even now, I continue to learn through trial and error every day.

Another challenge is that there isn’t much information about the Aerophone available online, making it difficult to find helpful resources.

I started this blog with the hope of supporting fellow beginners who, like me, have taken up the Aerophone but are struggling with various obstacles. I want to help prevent people from giving up.

I also want to show that you can enjoy playing the Aerophone even if you’ve never played the saxophone before.

Through this blog, I aim to explain common beginner struggles and my own solutions in an easy-to-understand way from a beginner’s perspective.

At the same time, I hope to share the joy and excitement of playing the Aerophone with as many people as possible!

Goals

While the Aerophone is well known among saxophone players, there are still many musicians—and even more people—who have never seen or heard of it.

Just like digital pianos, which are now widely recognized, I hope to raise awareness of digital saxophones (digital wind instruments) and make them more familiar to everyone.

Through this blog, I aim to share various information about the Aerophone, and I appreciate your support in spreading the word!
